Still your mind for a moment before you read this, and still your mind completely. How did you feel? You had nothing to worry about for that few moments, did you? Think about a fact of reality, the best and most powerful element in the world is calm water. although calm water can assume any form or shape, it cannot be destroyed easily, and only changes to steam when boiling. The greatest reality creator in the same way is a calm mind, a nervous mind can only mess things up even more when they are already going wrong. But a calm mind can bring things genuinely under control. Still waters run deep.
When mind and soul are nervous, nothing works anyhow, when mind and soul are under control, mastery is possible. What do you think it really means when the big metaphysical philosophers all repeat “as above, so below; as within, so without” anyhow. If you are calm above, you get great results below meaning if you are calm in your mind, you get great results outside of your mind, even when you cannot tame circumstances seemingly in an instant. You have the genuine potential to tame circumstances when your mind is calm and collected.
Indeed, being worried solves nothing, panic only makes things worse and fear is your worst enemy. Being calm really is everything, tolerance and understanding makes things better always and courage is your best friend, especially in seemingly daunting circumstances.
Today, I faced a simple problem a few minutes before I wrote this article, it would make most people impatient and intolerant. But instead, I stepped back, prayed a moment, thought about things and an easy solution came that was simpler than the problem in the first place.
I know you have probably heard this many times, but, I say it again, do not try to panic or solve things from without. Bless things and go within and then try again calmly outside of yourself. Who knows, with this approach, you can genuinely succeed.
To genuinely succeed, stop destructive panic and start genuine thought creatively. I know, that is easier said than done at times, especially where you are “under the grip of immediate need”, but, the reality is that nothing is genuinely worth panic, especially in hindsight, let alone foresight. After all, as a friend of mine named Carl Rems used to say: “Nothing is worth killing yourself over. Yeah buddy!”
So, the essence of my spiritual healing approach is to not fear or panic, but to be patient, understanding and tolerant at all times, even when you have to “force it”. In fact, the best times to step back and think outside the box is when you seem to have to “force it”. Self control starts with ultimate discipline, thought, control, patience, understanding and tolerance. Without those, you are shallow and you lose. WIth those, you are deep and you win. Make your choice.
