Most of us, whether we care to admit it, or not, have the potential, to be, either, our best friend, or worst enemy! You can either think you can, or can’t. Either way, you’ll be correct. These words, generally credited to Henry Ford, focus on, our attitudes, and the potential impacts! We are normally, stronger, and more focused, happier, and, thus, healthier, when we perceive life’s obstacles, as challenges, to overcome, instead of debilitating problems. When we think of things, the first way, these issues seem to be able to be handled, effectively, and, maybe, even, fun, to take charge of our own destiny! On the other hand, when we see every issue, as a problem, it often weakens us, by occupying our thoughts, and actions, in a negative, counter – productive manner. When we believe something, is, problematic, we often fixate on these, instead of proceeding forward, expanding our self – imposed limitations of our comfort zone! When we handle our stresses, and CALM down, we normally will feel better! With that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means, and how, doing so, often, changes our life, for the better.
1. Consider; creative; character: Groucho Marx said, It’s a matter of mind, over matter. If you don’t have a mind, it doesn’t matter. Instead of proceeding through life, worried, and concerned, and consumed with fears, and stress, a better approach, is to consider things thoroughly, think, outside – the – box, to seek the best approaches, options, etc, and be creative, to help yourself! Calming one’s self, often relates directly, to the strength of one’s character!
2. Attitude; attention; anxious/ anxiety: Instead of being fixated, and limited by your anxiety, and letting your anxious, fears, take over, and control you, you would be better served by paying keen attention, and focusing on the best path to follow! Those with a positive, can – do, attitude, usually, enjoy the calmest existence!
3. Listen; learn; loosen – up: Listen carefully, and pay attention, to every conversation, discussion, etc, so you may learn, your options, and be prepared to react, proactively, instead of letting your panic and anxiety, rule! Calm down, and loosen – up, by avoiding the temptation, to, sweat the petty stuff!
4. Motives; motivations: Know yourself, better, and become aligned with your true motives! When you know these, and your motivations, you enhance the opportunity, to proceed, in a focused, instead of, anxious, manner!
Relax, CALM down, and enhance your chances, to feel better! Will you try to become your own, best friend?
