This week I’ve compiled a list of a couple out of the box excursions, threw in a little fashion and of course, mentioned a couple of must reads! What inspired you this week? Leave a comment below for all to enjoy!

  1. DIGITAL DETOX – CAMP GROUNDED. Put the device down! Living in the moment is about moving forward with our eyes wide open, not focused on an unpredictable future. We are so wired to our phones, social media, laptops, ipads, etc. If we can slow down and disconnect from this technological addiction, we could actually truly connect! Digital Detox – Camp Grounded is a tech free weekend getaway for adults! A lot of what one can do is to simply be prepared for temptation, repeat a mantra, turn off notifications and most importantly, find a way to infuse our real life with what you admire of your favorite apps. At Camp Grounded there are playshops, activities, meditation, yoga, hiking, making meals, stargazing- with like minded people who have completely ditched their devices. Now that is a dangerous yet extremely welcome proposition!

  1. SOMETHING TO FOOD ABOUT – What do Questlove and innovative chefs have in common? A desire to tap into and understand creativity. In his book, ‘Something To Food About’, drummer, producer, musical director and culinary entrepreneur, Questlove, takes us into the world of food through the eyes of some awesome chefs, and asks what it is about food that teaches them to see the world in a specific way. Food for thought, indeed.

  1. MONOGRAPHIE – Minimalist. Major. This French ready to wear label is the creation of Aude Casteja, founded in 2016. It reinvents the tailored shirt, which we know has been done over and over again yet somehow this label gets one excited about the possibilities once again. Life is in the details, this is what we are reminded of every time we wear or see someone wearing a Monographie piece. It is just as classic as it is original. Love it.

  1. LUZIA- CRIQUE DE SOLEIL – Viva Mexico! This latest Cirque Du Soleil show “Luzia – a Waking Dream Of Mexico” is so vibrant and passionate, a beautiful presentation for its 38th production since 1984 with 44 performers from 15 countries. As its name suggests Luzia is a combination of the Spanish words ‘Luz’ for light and ‘Lluvia’ for rain, everything from its ‘grand chapiteau’ (tent cover) that is designed in yellow and white to reflect the culture’s love of the solar system, the moon and space. Do not miss this one!

  1. HOW TO GET SHIT DONE – And last, but certainly not least, my new book, How To Get Sh*T Done: Why Women Need To Stop Doing Everything So They Can Achieve Anything (Simon & Schuster) dropped last week!Women live in a state of constant guilt: that we’re not doing enough, that we’re not good enough, that we can’t keep up. If we’re not climbing the corporate ladder, building our side hustle, preparing home-cooked meals, tucking the kids in at night, meditating daily, and scheduling playdates, date nights, and girls’ nights every week, we feel like we’re not living our best lives. Yet traditional productivity books—written by men—barely touch the tangle of cultural pressures that women feel when facing down a to-do list. Finally, in the first productivity book by a woman in a decade, I will show you how to do less—a lot less, but feel like you’re getting a whole lot more of what counts accomplished!
